DAY 1: DELHI - AMRITSAR
You will be picked up from your hotel & transferred to the railway station to board the superfast Shatabdi Express to Amritsar. Arrive Amritsar at 1305 hrs, you will be met and assisted at the railway station and transferred to the hotel.
Evening visit The Wagah Border to watch The Border Retreat Ceremony. The beating of the retreat and the change of guards within handshaking distance of the Indian and Pakistani forces here is the most charming spectacle. Ascertain the timings before you arrive to see this ceremony since these are changed seasonally. Wagah is the only land border open between Pakistan and India. Overnight stay in Amritsar.
DAY 2: AMRITSAR - DELHI
In the morning visit The Golden Temple Amritsar - the most sacred temple for Sikhs. Golden Temple Amritsar is a symbol of magnificence and strength of the Sikhs all over the world. In the evolution of the Darbar Sahib, is entwined the history and ideology of Sikhism. In its architecture are included, symbols associated with other places of worship. This is an example of the spirit of tolerance and acceptance that the Sikh philosophy propounds.
Also visit The Jallianwala Bagh - Martyrs' Memorial, built in the shape of eternal flame of liberty. It is situated on the outskirts of The Golden Temple Amritsar. Here about 1500 - 2000 people who were attending a peaceful meeting during the freedom movement, fell under the bullets of the British General Dyer on 13 April 1919. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the railway station to board your train back to Delhi.
